JONNY LANG
Jonny Lang was only 15 years old when he released his first platinum album, “Lie to Me.” Since then, Lang has built a reputation as one of the best live performers and guitarists of his generation. The path he has been on has brought him the opportunity to perform with some of the most respected legends in music like The Rolling Stones, B.B. King, Aerosmith and Buddy Guy, to name a few.
Throughout his career, his bluesy sound evolved into a modern R&B style closer to Stevie Wonder and contemporary gospel music. In 2009, Lang won a Grammy for Best Gospel Performance for his song, “I Believe.” Lang has returned to those bluesy roots in his latest album, “Signs,” which features funk, rock and blues elements and is held together by Lang’s distinctive playing and singing. The lyrics center on themes of embattlement and self-empowerment.
